About The Position

The Warehouse Operator I – CL performs the physical movement of products and materials. This position is also responsible for accurately maintaining labels and shipping documents, physical inventory, and accurately picking and packing orders. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics regularly reviews our pay ranges against industry standards to ensure fairness. This position has a base compensation range of $17.00 to $19.50. Salary determination considers your skills, experience, job location, internal pay equity and job architecture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, and interpret standard operating procedures and customer requirements in English
  • Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents typically found in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety policies and procedures
  • Basic math skills including knowledge of calculator use
  • Willingness to work overtime hours and some evenings, weekends, and/or holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months experience working in a warehouse shipping, receiving, inventory handling environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of various warehouse tools and equipment preferred
  • Basic proficiency in operating a warehouse hand-held device

Responsibilities

  • Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped
  • Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to designated areas
  • Stocking shelves accurate--items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Assisting in counting of physical inventory
  • Picks priority shipments first as communicated by the supervisor.
  • Boxes and packs orders with packing materials to insure safe delivery.
  • Pulls product for orders, verifying product numbers and quantity.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Performing tasks safely, accurately, and steadily within the allotted time frame
  • Striving for 100% internal and external customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Due to business necessity or in the event a facility is a shared CL and freight forwarding (FF) location, the employee may also be required to perform the duties and responsibilities listed in the freight forwarding Warehouse Operator job description.
