About The Position

The Warehouse Operator will operate several machines in the warehouse that include Forklift, Power tools, and Baler. The Warehouse Operator will perform various tasks to support all warehouse functions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Forklift experience
  • Prior experience in the recycling or construction industry preferred
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Reliable and excellent attendance.
  • Ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials.
  • Self-starter, maintaining performance standards while working unsupervised.
  • Displays of friendly, helpful customer service with the public
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and customers
  • Valid forklift certification, loader training, and lockout tag out certification.
  • Must be able to complete company safety certification program.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; can effectively communicate to all levels of management both internally and externally.
  • Strong active listening skills give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions when appropriate, and let others fully state their ideas.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Grasps concepts quickly and has good follow through skills; adheres to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise; maintains a positive outlook.
  • Ability to identify the information needed to clarify situations; seeks information from appropriate sources; tackles a problem us.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in compliance with all Company policies and local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Safely operate and maintain all equipment associated with the Loaders, Forklifts, Balers.
  • Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections as required by OSHA and Key Works Metals standards.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained to operate and/or maintain all equipment.
  • Grade and weigh all customer metals with accuracy.
  • Report contaminated loads to supervisors and/or management.
  • Assist customers in the correct location to unload and help if necessary.
  • Load/unload trucks and trailers.
  • Sort and refine metal commodities to the highest value.
  • Monitor final products for excessive contamination and report to supervisors and/or management.
  • Maintain a clear and hazard free shipping area.
  • Perform work on weekends, and/or holidays and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
