About The Position

The Warehousing team within the Clallam Bay Corrections Center is searching for a personable, friendly and positive individual to join their team as a Warehouse Operator 2! This multifaceted position supports the goals of the agency by demonstrating a good work ethic, pro-social skills, and professionalism in your actions as you mentor, train, and work alongside our incarcerated workforce and while interacting with the general population. As a WO2, you’ll be part of an amazing team and organized operation that will provide all the training and support you need to be successful as you begin your career with DOC. Your role is flexible and will vary as you will be tasked with adapting to the daily challenges to meet a common goal. In conjunction with the team, you will assist in training, coaching, and mentoring a dedicated crew of incarcerated individuals in the day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving warehouse. You will help maintain a safe, organized, clean and positive working environment and ensure we fulfill our agency’s critical objective to maintain accurate physical inventory and is responsible for delivering goods inside the facility to units, kitchen or other areas. Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED
  • Able to push container on wheels weighing up to 300 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clerical or technical experience in retail clerking, warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, or receiving and operation of material handling equipment

Responsibilities

  • Logging and maintaining the accountability of Incarcerated property stored in upper property area to include: Maintaining electronic logbooks documenting incoming and outgoing property including: FedEx, transient property, property rejections, tort claim property, appliances waiting for holds, lawsuit or grievance property, and any other property handled in the upper property area
  • Ensuring information logged is written clearly, factually and concisely
  • Placing incoming property in proper storage area
  • Maintaining electronic log sheets used for locating property in the storage area
  • Disposing of property in accordance with Departmental Policies and procedures
  • Establishing and maintaining organized incarcerated property together within the upper property area
  • Processing property being shipped Fed Ex which could look like: Securely packaging all items shipped in accordance with FedEx regulations
  • Weighing, measuring and inputting package data into FedEx website to obtain shipping costs
  • Accurately completing shipping labels and postage transfers
  • Working with CBCC Business Office in regard to Incarcerated funds available/held for shipping
  • Maintains documentation of the packages being shipped Fed Ex in logbook, including assigned tracking numbers
  • Assisting in and serving as a back-up for delivery of Incarcerated Individual’s store to each living unit in accordance with the Correctional Industries Incarcerated Individual Store Delivery Procedures
  • Preparing documentation, attending staff meetings as required and attends all training sessions as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned
