About The Position

This role is responsible for various warehouse operations including reading production schedules, transporting materials, assembling customer orders, and maintaining inventory records. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and involves working in an environment with potential exposure to various conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Wear safety eye glasses and steel-toed shoes.
  • Follow proper lifting techniques.
  • Participate in hazard communication training.
  • Understand emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Works overtime when needed.
  • Transport material and other items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information and opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed and weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers and operates shipping labeling equipment and UPS machine.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications and completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
