About The Position

Major Food Distributor located in the Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is seeking a Full-Time Mid Shift Manager to oversee warehouse operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, direct, and administer warehouse order picking, inventory movement, operational flow, and shift execution while ensuring productivity, accuracy, safety, and service standards are consistently achieved. Ability to work Saturday and Sunday approximately 4:30 PM – 2:30 AM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Mandatory experience in food distribution and cold chain/perishable operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including replenishment, inventory control, and distribution processes.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage employees effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and productivity reporting tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, execution, and operational excellence by ensuring consistent adherence to mid-shift processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Supervise warehouse staff such as pickers, selectors, Hilo operators, replenishment staff, and support personnel.
  • Support a customer service-focused, zero-error culture, targeting no more than two errors per 10,000 cases picked or processed.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance using WMS and reporting tools to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Address performance gaps through coaching, accountability conversations, and employee development.
  • Manage staffing levels and labor planning to meet demand while controlling overtime and reducing costs.
  • Reduce product damage and improve accuracy through proper handling practices and process oversight.
