About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift position at Carilion Clinic's Roanoke facility. The Warehouse Materials Associate II is responsible for all aspects of incoming freight, including receiving, stocking, and driving a forklift when needed. Requirements

  • Ability to receive, stock and drive a forklift when needed.
  • Perform standard receiving and stocking tasks.
  • Unload delivery trucks.
  • Sort items by receiving priority.
  • Identify and document damaged deliveries.
  • Rotate inventory.
  • Store materials for easy access at primary pick locations.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to requesters / end users, buyers, and other warehouse teams.
  • Inspect and sign for deliveries.
  • Consistent communication with the Inventory Team on all shipment discrepancies.
  • Work with fellow members of the warehouse team to identify and address items that should be prioritized for receiving (i.e., patient specific, rush and hot orders).
  • Utilize an Inventory Management System to ensure received item quantities are accurately entered and discrepancies are properly documented.
  • Maintain a well-organized delivery record system.
  • Efficiently resolve all order-related inquiries / requests within service portal software as needed.
  • Stock items utilizing the inventory management system.
  • Accurately and consistently create and maintain all back stock process.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service for other warehouse employees and downstream customers by performing scheduled and as-needed QA activities.
  • Inspect and maintain the cleanliness of inventory racks, bins, and labels.
  • Escalate item discrepancies, order-delivery inconsistencies, and quality standard exceptions to leadership.
  • Load and unload medical items from Carilion vehicles.
  • Ensure specimens, medicines, equipment, or documents are properly maintained and safely secured based on specific company requirements.
  • Transport and deliver the applicable items to the correct destinations in a timely manner and based on routing specifications.
  • Adhere to and observe proper fleet operations and regulations including DOT and OSHA.
  • Maintain vehicles and observe safety procedures as part of a daily routine.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip maintenance and safety inspection.
  • Maintain Proper Drivers License and Health Card (Driving record as required by Carilion policy).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate shipment discrepancies to the Inventory Team.
  • Prioritize receiving of items such as patient-specific, rush, and hot orders.
  • Utilize an Inventory Management System to accurately enter received item quantities and document discrepancies.
  • Maintain a well-organized delivery record system to prevent loss of goods and provide documentation of liability transfer.
  • Resolve order-related inquiries and requests within service portal software.
  • Stock items utilizing the inventory management system.
  • Create and maintain back stock processes.
  • Perform scheduled and as-needed Quality Assurance (QA) activities, including inspecting and maintaining the cleanliness of inventory racks, bins, and labels.
