About The Position

AMI Metals, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance, Inc., supplies aircraft-quality raw material products to the aerospace industry. The Warehouse Material Handler prepares customer orders for shipping and assists with production. The role involves packing, inspecting, marking, and preserving orders according to customer and company requirements, maintaining assigned equipment and a clean work area, and following company safety and quality procedures. The position requires medium-to-heavy physical work, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. The listed shift is 2nd shift, 1:00 pm–9:30 pm.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to work irregular hours.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Build skids or boxes for packing and shipping orders.
• Use crosscut saws, miter saws, nail guns, staple guns, and banding equipment as needed.
• Follow AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Perform quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Mark shipments according to customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Stencil shipping information as required.
• Maintain assigned equipment and keep equipment records.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participate in TQM and SPC meetings.
• Assist with production.
