About The Position

ABC Supply Interiors is a specialty distributor of drywall, ceiling tiles, steel framing, and other building materials for commercial and residential contractors. The Warehouse Material Handler / Forklift Operator pulls customer orders, loads orders onto company delivery trucks, and performs picking and loading duties using a forklift. The role may also assist with delivery functions, including unloading and staging products at customer locations or jobsites as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to be trained and licensed or certified by ABC Supply Interiors to operate forklift equipment.
• Ability to stand, climb, reach, bend, and twist throughout complete shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 250 lbs with assistance.
• Forklift experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable building material products is preferred.
• Building material experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
• Receive incoming building materials and place them into inventory.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse to use storage space effectively and ensure products can be quickly retrieved for shipment.
• Pull ordered material from inventory and stage it for pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain products in quality, marketable condition.
• Keep accurate inventory records.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently and handle heavy and awkward loads.
• Estimate forklift load weights to ensure delivery vehicles are properly loaded and not overweight.
• Sort products physically to remove defective material.
• Assist with delivery of materials to customers or jobsites as assigned, including unloading and staging products at jobsites.
