About The Position

Directs warehousing activities for Sales Center by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisor(s). Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises approximately 5 employees in the Warehouse Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also, directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Requirements

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in order to optimize warehouse configuration and organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Certified forklift operator.
  • Certified CO2 filling operator.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move unaided up to 60 pounds and exert force of 100 pounds to lift or move objects with the aid of a manual lifting device.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of product and materials (includes outdated, damaged and pilfered inventory) and keeping warehouse inventory current and at appropriate levels.
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  • Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control and purchasing.
  • Performs housekeeping and grounds maintenance of warehouse and sales center offices.
  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
  • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
