About The Position

The Warehouse Manager oversees all aspects of warehouse operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained. This role is critical in a perishable product facility where strict adherence to FIFO and inventory control processes is required. The ideal candidate will lead, train, and develop the warehouse team, maintain clear communication with other departments, and manage both day-to-day activities and long-term initiatives to support organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping operations.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience, preferably in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; bilingual preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze shipping and warehouse challenges, recommending improvements in methods and workforce engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records including personnel metrics, shipped volume, and operational data.
  • Gather operational intelligence by observing, receiving, and analyzing information from relevant sources.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to detect and resolve issues.
  • Set performance expectations and monitor results, providing guidance and motivation to team members.
  • Build a culture of trust, respect, and cooperation within the team and across departments.
  • Coach and mentor employees to improve performance and deliver corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure that supervisors and foremen maintain high productivity and efficiency standards.
  • Oversee outside contractors including guard and yard services.
  • Act as liaison between warehouse operations and other plant departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all plant safety, quality, and attendance policies.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in the warehouse.
  • Minimize downtime and ensure efficient workflow across all shifts.
  • Routinely tour warehouse to observe employee performance, ensure safety compliance, and boost morale.
  • Execute special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Manage department budget effectively and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Maintain and verify accurate inventory through spot checks, manifest reviews, receiving validations, and scheduled physical inventories.
