Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations
  • 3+ years progressively responsible management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Outbound (picking and packing) operations team in a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center.
  • Oversee up to 4 salaried supervisors and provide indirect leadership to a large non-exempt (up to 100) employees.
  • Manage a function to ensure accurate product receipt, order fulfillment and the optimization of resources and processes resulting in products provided to customers on time and operating costs and process efficiencies are met.
  • Manage processes to ensure compliance with procedures, identify process improvements, and promote employee programs to create and promote an environment where employees are engaged and empowered.
  • Use production, safety, quality, cycle time, financial, and other important data to analyze performance and identify process variations or exceptions resulting in lower than expected performance and communicate issues to leadership team.
  • Support Distribution Center wide projects and help ensure all deliverables (e.g. action items, process improvements) are completed by the commitment date.
  • Create a dynamic workplace that effects positive employee relationships by developing employee engagement and recognition programs and ensuring all employees are treated fairly, with respect, and have the tools necessary to perform their jobs.
  • Commit to employee feedback and development process for salaried supervisors this may include interviewing and training, assign and direct work, supporting development goals, provide feedback, complete performance evaluations, and recognition and disciplinary action.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and the use LEAN, DMAIC, Six Sigma tools and programs and implement solutions to improve results and operations excellence.
  • Emphasize training and implement audit systems to eliminate process variation or discrepancies and to ensure compliance with Company, and other governmental agencies (e.g. OSHA, DOT, and EPA).
