About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory and movement/transfer of product as well as supervising the warehouse staff including drivers. Maintains ample levels of inventory to meet delivery and service expectations of all branch customers. Communicates and enforces goals and policies and ensures compliance with work procedures, policies, safety, recordkeeping practices and security. Performs a variety of warehouse duties that may include packing, pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping and material handling. May use automated warehouse management system.

  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse/inventory management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to effectively delegate tasks.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to apply sound judgment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a Scanner.
  • Proven customer service experience with high level of customer satisfaction; and positive relationship management skills.
  • High quality customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult customers in a positive manner.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift with a valid forklift operators certification – internal certification as well as train and certify warehouse associates and drivers.
  • Ability to keep the warehouse organized, well stocked and free from any safety or security hazards.
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe manner as well as follow safety protocols and regulations.
  • 5 years in a warehouse or shipping environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current with part number and line codes.
  • Conduct cycle counts and keep dead stock at a minimum.
  • Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.
  • Process and document transactions and reports timely and accurately (cycle counts, inventory, driver records, safety incidents, damaged product, etc.).
  • Ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment and employees are completing pre and post shift forklift and truck inspections as well as reporting any concerns.
  • Maintain equipment and fix or replace malfunctioning equipment/trucks.
  • Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve efficient warehouse operations.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure timely and safe shipment of products.
  • Maintain working knowledge/understanding of company policies and procedures and employee handbook policies.
  • Consult with Management and Human Resources for clarification as well as employee.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement processes.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.
  • Assist with material handling at warehouse including lifting.
  • May operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate storage of products throughout warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
