This role is responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of machinery. The position involves general maintenance tasks such as reassembling machines after repair, observing mechanical operation to detect problems, inspecting or testing damaged parts, lubricating machines, installing or replacing machine parts, and dismantling machines for repair. It also includes reading work orders, setting up and operating machines, collaborating with other workers, managing inventory of parts, transporting machine parts, collecting and discarding worn parts, and cleaning machines. Additionally, the role requires conducting regular inspections of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) like forklifts and conveyor systems, maintaining records, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, repairing faulty components, testing repaired equipment, and ensuring MHE is maintained to safety standards. The technician will also troubleshoot equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, research warranty and repeat failures for continuous improvement, and coordinate with vendors for maintenance and repair activities.
