About The Position

The Warehouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on various warehouse equipment, including material handling equipment, industrial batteries, and dock equipment. This role also involves ensuring safety and compliance with all company policies and regulations. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, maintain maintenance records, and coordinate with external service providers for major repairs. A strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Experience servicing forklifts and industrial batteries.
  • Knowledge of dock doors, dock levelers, and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Technician certification or related trade certification.
  • Experience with electric forklifts and battery management systems.
  • Knowledge of PM (Preventative Maintenance) programs.
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on material handling equipment.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for major repairs on material handling equipment when required.
  • Maintain maintenance records and equipment service schedules for material handling equipment.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot forklift batteries and charging systems.
  • Monitor battery watering, charging cycles, and overall battery health.
  • Ensure battery room safety procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Perform routine inspections of battery chargers and related electrical equipment.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair warehouse dock doors, dock levelers, seals, shelters, and restraints.
  • Respond promptly to dock equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
  • Coordinate vendor repairs for specialized dock equipment when necessary.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of dock equipment to ensure compliance and operational reliability.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify safety concerns.
  • Participate in workplace safety programs and training.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and equipment standards.
