ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on warehouse equipment, including 36-volt DC electric forklifts, 24-volt DC electric pallet jacks, propane-powered sweepers, and other material-handling equipment. Diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment problems and repair or replace damaged, worn, or defective components. Perform welding, brazing, soldering, fabrication, and other repair work as needed. Complete maintenance and repairs involving warehouse racking, floors, piping, and other structural components. Apply mechanical knowledge and technical skills to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, pipe-fitting, fabrication, building construction, and other warehouse maintenance issues. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and other diagnostic resources used in troubleshooting, repair, and fabrication work. Use mechanical hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and precision measuring devices, including tape measures, micrometers, and drill gauges. Select and order appropriate repair parts and materials. Maintain accurate computerized records of preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, completed repairs, parts usage, and inventory. Complete required computer data entry accurately and promptly. Follow established safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, fall-protection requirements, and the proper use of personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair shop and work area. Perform additional warehouse equipment and facility maintenance duties as assigned.
