About The Position

The Warehouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on various warehouse equipment and facility components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as general building maintenance practices. The technician will utilize technical skills to diagnose and repair issues, maintain accurate records, and adhere to all safety protocols. The position involves working in a dynamic warehouse environment with exposure to moving machinery and varying temperatures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical or material-handling equipment is required.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pipe-fitting, fabrication, and general building maintenance practices.
  • Experience repairing mechanical damage and replacing damaged, worn, or defective parts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment using schematics, drawings, manuals, and other diagnostic resources.
  • Experience using mechanical hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and precision measuring devices.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to document maintenance, inspections, repairs, parts usage, and inventory electronically.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and respond effectively to equipment and facility maintenance needs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and established maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds, with assistance or appropriate lifting equipment when needed.
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work overhead.
  • Ability to work beside, underneath, and within warehouse equipment and racking.
  • Ability to safely work from ladders and elevated platforms and within confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear a safety harness and other required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the assigned shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining and repairing electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks, propane-powered sweepers, or similar warehouse equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Welding, brazing, soldering, and fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and sweepers.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment problems and repair or replace damaged components.
  • Perform welding, brazing, soldering, fabrication, and other repair work as needed.
  • Complete maintenance and repairs involving warehouse racking, floors, piping, and other structural components.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, pipe-fitting, fabrication, and building construction issues.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Use mechanical hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and precision measuring devices.
  • Select and order appropriate repair parts and materials.
  • Maintain accurate computerized records of preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, completed repairs, parts usage, and inventory.
  • Complete required computer data entry accurately and promptly.
  • Follow established safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, fall-protection requirements, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair shop and work area.
  • Perform additional warehouse equipment and facility maintenance duties as assigned.
