Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8-10 years plant/warehouse general maintenance experience, including electrical and mechanical repair and troubleshooting
  • Has the ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder
  • Good organizational, communication, and planning skills
  • Experience operating forklift equipment required
  • Must have a clean driving record, to operate a company vehicle to travel within the area

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or Technical Certification preferred
  • Equipment certification may be required
  • Requires experience with Conveyors and repairing Dock Doors
  • Requires 5 years of building maintenance experience and general electrical and plumbing repair experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and trouble-shooting functions on all warehousing equipment in an independent and effective manner
  • Maintains and troubleshoots plant utility systems including fire protection, water, electrical, air, and vacuum as applicable
  • Understands shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering, and plant reporting systems
  • Performs routine forklift repairs
  • Maintains batteries and related equipment
  • Performs routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and maintains records of repairs
  • If required, provides training, including aspects of safety, quality, sanitation, and efficiency of packaging/warehouse equipment, for operations associates
  • Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed
