About The Position

Taylor Metal Products is a leading manufacturer of high-end steel roofing and siding products with over 20 years of business and continued growth. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) to ensure uninterrupted production of quality products that meet compliance with company standards. We are looking for a reliable, self-driven individual with the capability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair multiple types of equipment throughout the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate is a dependable team player who takes pride in quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude with operating, repairing, and conducting routine maintenance on forklifts, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, motors, and other equipment or tools as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for troubleshooting, repairs, process, and safety improvements.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and determine the appropriate measures to correct them.
  • Ability to provide cost estimates to conduct said corrections.
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metals.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma.
  • Good time management and strong work ethic.
  • Pass background check and physical ability test.
  • 1-3 years of internal or relevant industrial machinery maintenance experience required.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming and operating CNC machinery desired.
  • Forklift certification preferred (will certify in-house).

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing multiple types of equipment throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Setting up, operating, and programming computerized press-brake, roll-forming machines, machine shop equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate preventive maintenance schedules and knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Leading or conducting the safe removal and installation of equipment.
  • Performing weekly safety checks to ensure a safe and clean operating environment and eliminate all hazards.
  • Providing groundskeeping services such as landscaping, snow removal, and exterior maintenance as appointed by management.
  • Setting up and operating machine tools to repair or fabricate machined parts, jigs, fixtures, or tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
