Requirements

  • Forklift / warehouse experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to learn systems quickly
  • Leadership presence / accountability
  • Reliable attendance and communication
  • Must be 18 years old to apply
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist (bags of mortar weigh 80 lbs)
  • Ability to work in the outdoor yard during all-weather elements, year-round- this position requires working both inside and outside the warehouse
  • Ability to read orders and pick tickets
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with forklift preventive maintenance programs a plus
  • Prior experience in Manufacturing industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse workflow
  • Ensure orders are picked, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately/on time
  • Monitor inbound and outbound freight activity
  • Maintain organized yard / warehouse layout for efficiency and safety
  • Address immediate operational issues and escalate when needed
  • Serve as lead contact when supervisor is off-site or unavailable
  • Direct warehouse associates on priorities throughout the day
  • Train new employees on processes, safety, and expectations
  • Hold team accountable for productivity and standards
  • Communicate staffing or performance concerns
  • Monitor stock levels and notify appropriate dept of shortages
  • Verify received materials and quantities
  • Assist with cycle counts / inventory accuracy
  • Identify damaged, aged, or obsolete material
  • Ensure material is stored properly and safely
  • Have access to and regularly use a computer, printer, and phone
  • Learn and use the Shipping Tool
  • Learn basic functions of JIM
  • Print pick tickets, shipping paperwork, labels, BOLs, etc.
  • Respond to emails and communicate updates professionally
  • Enforce PPE and safety expectations
  • Conduct basic safety checks / housekeeping walkthroughs
  • Report incidents, hazards, or equipment issues immediately
  • Ensure forklifts/equipment are used properly
  • Assist with EH&S assignments
  • Troubleshoot shipping and order issues before escalation
  • Make informed day-to-day decisions to keep operations moving
  • Communicate delays proactively.
