About The Position

This role involves performing all functions of Material Handlers, supervising their daily activities, and assisting the Supervisor in coordinating workflow and recommending work assignments. The Warehouse Lead reviews orders and notices to determine work sequences, assigns work, and monitors productivity to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization, safety, and overall efficiency. They conduct team talks, plan assignments, coordinate and monitor warehouse operations for on-time deliveries, and ensure safety in work processes by supporting safety programs and educating team members. The role also involves communicating policies, safety regulations, and SOPs, ensuring the facility is clean and orderly, minimizing product damage, and coaching team members on company culture, expectations, job performance, and safety. The Warehouse Lead informs the Supervisor of operating and performance issues, makes recommendations for corrective action, and drives vehicles or operates machinery as needed. They also make recommendations for improving work procedures, building efficiency, customer service, work conditions, product quality, and minimizing expenses. Additionally, they operate a lift truck, maintain reliable attendance, and perform all duties in conformance with safety and security standards.

Nice To Haves

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Conducts team talks or start-up meetings in conjunction with supervisors.
Plans assignments, coordinates and monitors operations within the warehouse to ensure on-time deliveries are achieved, reducing irregularities and damage.
Ensures safety in work processes and Team Member performance by supporting company and/or facility safety programs, by educating Team Members, and by ensuring a generally safe work environment.
Communicates policies, safety regulations and SOPs to Team Members; follows-up to ensure compliance and consistency; assists in corrective action as necessary and documents the issue and actions taken.
Ensures that facility is maintained clean and in an orderly fashion.
Ensures that product damage is kept to a minimum.
Coaches and counsels Team Members regarding company culture and expectations, job performance, methods of performing job tasks and safety.
Informs Supervisor of all operating issues and problems and makes recommendations for corrective action to ensure quality warehouse operations and customer service.

Operates a lift truck performing various material handling duties in the facility as requested by Operations Manager or Supervisor.
Reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed
