About The Position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating warehouse personnel and activities, including the receipt, storage, and maintenance of the warehouse to meet productivity goals and operating objectives. This role involves training new and current employees on safety procedures, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Lead will collaborate with customers to resolve discrepancies, prepare work schedules, and address personnel issues. They will also assist the Operations Supervisor in developing process improvements and compiling statistics, while ensuring the warehouse is maintained in a sanitary manner and completing end-of-shift paperwork. The Warehouse Lead acts as a backup to the Operations Supervisor and reviews employee time and attendance records.

Requirements

High School diploma, GED or equivalency required.
Exhibits solid leadership ability.
Demonstrates sound problem-solving skills.
Displays dedication to a high standard or performance.
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have reach truck experience.
Ability to be trained on 49-CFR DOT Dangerous Goods transportation and IATA Dangerous Goods air transportation.
Effective time management skills.
Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to conduct appropriate research as needed.
Strong presentation skills.
Attention to detail and organization.
Critical thinking.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Experience with warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminology.
Use of terminology of requisitions, invoices, and other warehouse documents.
Operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
Experience utilizing WMS, RF Guns/Scanners.
Must be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen).
Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Processing and requisitioning of supplies; delivering, and packaging materials for shipment.
Supervise and coordinate Warehouse Personnel and activities which include the receipt, storage, to meet productivity goals, operating objectives, and warehouse maintenance functions.
Coordinate new and current employee training to include, but not limited to: personal safety, forklift safety, warehouse policy and procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve discrepancies related to shipping, receiving and inventory. Research errors and implement corrective actions.
Prepare work schedules to include, but not limited to: work assignments/rotations, employee training, breaks, overtime assignments, and coverage for vacation/personal absences.
Address and review personnel complaints and grievances ensuring compliance with appropriate company procedures and they are resolved effectively and efficiently without preferences or judgment.
Assist Operations Supervisor in developing plans and programs for process improvement.
Assist Operations Supervisor in compiling productivity and reliability statistics for management.
Complete daily sanitation schedule and process end-shift paperwork.
Ensure that warehouse is maintained in a sanitary manner according to Company standards.
Consistently inform Operations Supervisor of potential problems and changes.
Act as backup in the absence of Operations Supervisor.
Review and approve employee time and attendance records.
Address performance problems through corrective action and dismissal.
