About The Position

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic professional individual to build their career with our Warehouse Department as a Warehouse Lead. This role involves supervising and directing designated teams, maintaining department operations reports and logs, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment. The Warehouse Lead will also be responsible for leading a team of 30+ members, operating warehouse equipment, and interacting effectively with other departments. Additionally, they will train and coach team members, manage day-to-day operations across various areas like receiving and fulfillment, and establish key performance indicators (KPIs). The position requires the ability to work in varying temperatures, including freezer storage.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of previous supervisory or management experience.
  • At least 2 years of increasing responsibility in a warehouse or distribution setting.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Previous Manhattan WMS software experience.
  • Previous experience operating electric pallet jack and/or reach forklift.
  • Previous experience in implementing new systems and procedures.
  • Ability to make timely decisions using sound judgement.
  • Ability to train, motivate, coach, and lead team members.
  • Ability to have basic math skills and have the capacity to retain numbers.
  • Ability to interact effectively with other departments within the organization.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repetitively as well as bend and reach for product when needed.
  • Ability to learn quickly, be responsive to training, and possess ability to apply what is learned.
  • Ability to self-motivate, communicate, and coordinate with other employees including entry level team members and upper management.
  • Ability to operate and understand mechanical operation of pallet jack, reach forklift, man-lift and other such warehouse equipment.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in a pick-pack line setting.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit suggestions from staff to improve processes as needed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Interact effectively with other departments within the organization.
  • Assist warehouse TM’s, business partners and/or carrier’s concerns as needed.
  • Complete other duties and assignments as directed by your supervisor/manager.
  • Provide work direction and coordinate the schedules and activities of assigned personnel.
  • Train and coach team members in operations and help create a positive work environment for team members.
  • Manage and oversee day operations across multiple areas such as receiving, unloading, will call and fulfillment.
  • Establish, maintain, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) consistent with business demands and company goals.
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles as required; arrange for the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Plan, oversee, and participate in Warehouse Operations and activities to assure stock and warehouse facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Prepared to work in temperatures as low as -10, as our warehouse includes dry, cooler, and freezer storage.
