About The Position

Perfetti Van Melle, a global leader in confectionery and chewing gum manufacturing, is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Warehouse Lead to join their team. This role involves monitoring warehouse flow, communicating with production personnel, providing shift coverage, managing inventory accuracy through various reports, and ensuring the safety of warehouse operations by monitoring forklift operators and equipment. The position is based on a 12-hour Continental rotating schedule, offering a "Work Half the Year!" opportunity.

Requirements

Forklift experience REQUIRED
Previous manufacturing/warehouse/distribution experience is required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Uniform, Hairnet, Beard net, and Mask when required.
Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
Ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull 350-pound carts with wheels.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
SAP experience is REQUIRED.
Must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor flow and communicate with production personnel to identify possible problems or changes.
Provide coverage for vacations on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Ensure adequate time for shift personnel to take breaks.
Responsible for various inventory reports to maintain inventory accuracy.
Monitor forklift operators and equipment to ensure the safety of warehouse personnel and those in production.
Conduct and manage inventory reporting.
Conduct SAP transactions.
Communicate with production staff and warehouse supervisors.
Effectively troubleshoot problems when problems in inventory are encountered.
Lead or participate on process/system improvement teams.
