This role performs all areas in the Warehouse, including unloading and receiving shipments, transporting product to manufacturing, and preparing outbound freight shipments. The position monitors receiving and shipping traffic to ensure efficient utilization of docks and supply of materials. The Warehouse Lead works with a supervisor to monitor shift performance, correct issues, and recommend improvements related to equipment and staff efficiency. They also collaborate with other leads, supervisors, and support teams to solve problems and implement measures to improve safety, product quality, warehouse methods, and equipment performance. A key aspect of this role involves training and developing employees through mentoring, reinforcing company policies and culture, and ensuring team members receive proper guidance and resources. The lead assists in writing Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, operates warehouse machinery safely, assigns tasks, and monitors warehouse processes. They review employee paperwork, close warehouse record reports, and communicate with other departments to meet production schedules. Additionally, the role actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and ensures compliance with OSHA, safety, food safety, and cGMP guidelines.
