About The Position

This role will be outlined with responsibilities for providing leadership and direction to the team members to support the daily operations. The warehouse lead will perform both material handling tasks and ensure product movement is timely, accurate and as prescribed. This position will work closely with the Operations leadership to grow an understanding of business needs. With this the Team Lead will recommend strategies and help improve efficiencies. The position is a Weekend Lead role, and is a hybrid shift working 2 day shifts and 2 afternoon shifts. Start times and shift schedules are to be determined but will include Saturday and Sunday. Schedule: Night Shift | Monday - Friday | 5PM - 1AM

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous GFS warehouse experience required
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to high performance
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members and create a positive team environment
  • Strong customer service focus and communication abilities
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate a culture of continuous improvement, lead initiatives and model GFS values.
  • Knowledge and use of computers for the use of WMS, SAP, Google Apps as well as some typing and email skills
  • While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in effectively leading and managing the Operations team members to meet the shipping metrics.
  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule activities of team members to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Provide and coordinate team member training that adheres to safety procedures and complies with all operating procedures and practices
  • Manage, develop and monitor team member performance.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with internal transportation units
  • Resolve work problems and recommends methods to improve performance and enhance operational efficiencies
  • Prepare reports, and analyze operational performance
