Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Warehouse Lead Hand - Afternoon Shift. Eaton’s Milton, Ontario site is Eaton's largest manufacturing facility in Canada. The hourly rate for this position is $$26-$32 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The Warehouse Lead Hand is a working, hands on role that supports daily warehouse operations while providing on floor leadership and direction to the warehouse team on the second shift. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position performs regular warehouse duties (shipping, receiving, picking, inventory control) while coordinating work activities, supporting safety and quality initiatives, and acting as the first point of support for team members during the shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a warehouse.
  • Minimum 2 years of formal or informal leadership experience, including mentoring or training team members.
  • Forklift license with at least 5 years of experience.
  • RF Experience for at least 3 years.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sense of urgency and time management.
  • Ability to lead by example while performing hands on work.
  • Effective problem solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Solid understanding of warehouse safety requirements.
  • Ability to de escalate conflict and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • College diploma.
  • Experience in a fabrication or assembly environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily warehouse tasks including shipping, receiving, picking, staging, material movement, and order fulfillment.
  • Operate material handling equipment in accordance with safety standards.
  • Manage material flow from receiving through to customer delivery to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct cycle counts and support inventory accuracy in compliance with accounting policies.
  • Use Oracle and other warehouse systems to maintain accurate inventory records and transaction integrity.
  • Complete non conformance reports for defective materials through the NCMR process.
  • Follow established returns and RMA processes and coordinate appropriate follow up actions.
  • Coordinate disposal of scrap inventory in accordance with procedures.
  • Coordinate daily manpower and work assignments while remaining actively involved in warehouse work.
  • Provide on the floor direction, coaching, and support to team members throughout the shift.
  • Lead or support morning meetings focused on safety, quality, production priorities, and daily goals.
  • Motivate the team by communicating expectations related to productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Act as a first point of contact for operational issues, assisting with resolution and escalating when required.
  • Communicate quality objectives and ensure standards are consistently followed.
  • Work collaboratively with other Eaton Electrical Canada supplying locations to resolve material or shipment issues.
  • Communicate over shipments and short shipments to the Materials Department.
  • Respond to material status inquiries from Milton office personnel and satellite locations.
  • Promote and model safe work practices at all times.
  • Inspect equipment and report machinery malfunctions for repair.
  • Ensure tow motor maintenance records, rack inspections, lift truck inspections, and ladder inspections are completed as required.
  • Provide input and recommendations to improve warehouse effectiveness, workflow, and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
