About The Position

The Warehouse Journeyman is responsible for the management and maintenance of the shop, tool crib, and supplies for projects. This role involves shipping and receiving materials and equipment, organizing them for the worksite, and maintaining cleanliness in the shop and tool crib. The position also requires reporting missing/overdue tools, maintaining equipment, creating requisitions for stock replenishment, marking new equipment, and ensuring proper handling and storage of heavy industrial service materials and tools. Additionally, the role includes performing visual inspections of tools, ensuring cycle counts are completed daily, and various other shop maintenance duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of heavy industrial service materials and tools, and their proper handling, storage and preparation for work sites
  • Experience in equipment and tool maintenance, with some related training preferred
  • Good knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and repair (mechanically inclined)
  • Valid Class 5 drivers (clean abstract)
  • CSTS-09, BSO, or CSO
  • Computer knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player, and strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Positive attitude and compliance towards safety
  • Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding drawings and material grads is an asset
  • Familiar with and comfortable navigating the Fort McMurray and surrounding areas

Responsibilities

  • Ship and receive materials and equipment (load/clean equipment)
  • Organize materials and tools for the worksite
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop and tool crib
  • Present missing/overdue tool reports to supervision
  • Maintain equipment and tools
  • Create requisitions for replenishing low stock
  • Mark new equipment with marking tool
  • Ensure equipment and small tools are maintained and visual and annual inspections are done as required
  • Keep proper/updated certifications on all tools and MSDS sheets for consumables
  • Act as an in-town runner
  • Perform visual inspections of tools before releasing from/accepting in tool crib
  • Ensure cycle counts are accomplished daily
  • Various shop maintenance duties will be required
  • Various other duties as requested by management
