About The Position

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries. This role involves connecting pipe, hydro-testing, and rigging, and can be performed indoors or outdoors. The work is typically physically demanding.

Requirements

Must be an Alberta ticketed journeyman (or hold a journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)
CSTS-09 and/or CSO
Able to work well in a team environment
Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field
Organized and self-motivated
Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing is a condition of employment

H2S considered an asset
3rd and 4th Year Apprentices may be considered

Responsibilities

Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
Select type of pipe, size of pipe, and systems by applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints
Construct support hangers and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications
Utilize pipe bending tools or machines to bend pipe
Perform pressure tests by increasing pressure in pipe systems and observing pressure gauges to test for leaks
Ensure that holes cut in pipe will not cause structural weakness
Connect pipe utilizing threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or fused joints and hand tools
Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders
Cut pipe utilizing saws, pipe cutting machines, cutting torch, etc.
Secure pipe with brackets, clamps, and hangars
Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
May perform other duties as assigned
