About The Position

This role involves receiving, identifying, marking, processing, and issuing materials within a warehouse setting. The position requires maintaining various records, files, and reports, including inventory control and ensuring high-quality standards for audits. The Journeyman will operate warehouse equipment and vehicles, utilize hand tools, and possess good organizational and time management skills. Key responsibilities include maintaining positive working relationships, producing high-quality work safely and productively, ensuring the availability of necessary materials and tools, and seeking opportunities for improvement. The role also emphasizes learning and understanding safety hazards, effective math skills, and safe operation of tools and equipment, with a focus on eliminating waste. Employees are expected to ask supervisors for clarification on work aspects or safety practices.

Requirements

  • Effective Math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred.
  • NCCER Core Curriculum and /or a High School diploma or equivalent is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, identify, mark, process and issue material.
  • Maintain a variety of records, files and reports.

  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles.

  • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work.
  • Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others.
  • Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work.
  • Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment.
  • Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  • Ask a supervisor before continuing if unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices.
