About The Position

The Warehouse Inbound Lead is responsible for overseeing daily inbound warehouse operations, including receiving, unloading, put-away, inventory verification, and replenishment activities. This position serves as the primary point of contact for the inbound team, ensuring productivity, accuracy, safety, and service level expectations are met. The Inbound Lead provides hands-on leadership, training, and coaching while supporting continuous process improvements and maintaining compliance with company policies and operational standards. The ideal candidate is a strong team leader with experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of lead, coordinator, or supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
  • Strong knowledge of receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Certified or experienced operating powered industrial equipment, including Reach Truck, Order Picker, and Sit-Down Forklift.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and make informed decisions to improve performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct daily activities of the inbound team to ensure operational goals are achieved.
  • Assign workloads, prioritize tasks, and monitor employee productivity throughout each shift.
  • Train, coach, mentor, and develop team members on warehouse processes, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Conduct daily start-up meetings to communicate priorities, productivity goals, and operational updates.
  • Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement, accountability, and recognition.
  • Assist supervisors with performance monitoring, attendance tracking, and corrective action recommendations.
  • Oversee the receiving, unloading, inspection, and put-away of inbound shipments.
  • Verify shipment quantities, product condition, lot numbers, and documentation accuracy.
  • Coordinate dock schedules and receiving priorities to support customer requirements and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure inbound product is processed accurately and moved to designated storage locations within established timelines.
  • Monitor workflow to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
  • Support inventory replenishment activities to maintain adequate stock levels for order fulfillment.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are accurately completed within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and location verifications as required.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through process compliance and attention to detail.
  • Monitor damaged, missing, or non-conforming inventory and coordinate resolution efforts.
  • Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and safe operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety observations and immediately address unsafe behaviors or conditions.
  • Ensure proper use and certification of powered industrial equipment, including Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, and Sit-Down Forklifts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Report accidents, incidents, and near misses according to company procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as receiving productivity, dock-to-stock time, inventory accuracy, and labor utilization.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend operational enhancements.
  • Assist in implementing new processes, systems, and operational initiatives.
  • Support peak season planning and staffing requirements to meet business demands.
  • Prepare and communicate operational updates, productivity metrics, and inventory-related information to management.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control, Outbound Operations, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow continuity.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for inbound operational concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and operational planning activities.
