About The Position

The Warehouse Freezer Picker is responsible for selecting product in a safe and efficient manner, which includes reading labels, placing product in the proper locations on pallets and preparing it for shipping. This role involves working in a plant environment, specifically in a freezer area with temperatures below zero degrees. The position requires adherence to safety, food safety, environmental, and sanitation procedures, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The role may also require floating into the Production work, primarily the Packaging Area, as directed by the Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate.
1 + years’ experience as a team leader in a manufacturing facility, preferably in food.
Forklift experience is required.
Must have high attention to detail.
Must be dependable and trustworthy.
Ability to bring energy to the performance of a task.
Ability to maintain good relations with others.
Ability to exhibit a professional and collaborative demeanor toward others.
Able to work productively with a variety of personalities and individuals.

Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.

Prior freezer or cold environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Select product in a safe and efficient manner, including reading labels and placing product in proper locations on pallets.
Prepare product for shipping.
Drive a forklift and operate manual and electric pallet jacks.
Adhere to weekly/monthly inventory procedures.
Load and unload trucks.
Palletize orders.
Perform production tasks, primarily in the Packaging Area, as needed.
Organize and clean the freezer.
Physically transfer product onto pallets following specific patterns and configurations.
Assemble overnight shipments.
Fill orders in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsible for product rotation.
Communicate pertinent information with the Supervisor.
Ensure safety and cleanliness of the freezer/cooler according to internal and USDA standards.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
Follow all safety rules & procedures by working safely and ensuring the safety of others.
Follow all food safety procedures.
Follow all environmental protocols as applicable.
Follow all sanitation procedures and work instructions.
