About The Position

Elmer Chocolate, the oldest family-owned chocolate company in America and the second-largest manufacturer of Valentine boxed chocolate in North America, is seeking a full-time Warehouse Forklift Operator for its Ponchatoula factory. This position offers opportunities for advancement and operates on a 40+ hour schedule with both day and night shift options available.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old
• Pass a drug screen
• Must be able to qualify for & pass forklift certification course
• High school graduate or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable attendance
• Ability to follow & read instructions
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Reading, interpreting signs and short correspondence, shipping documents, and memos.
• Basic math skills, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Able to identify, evaluate and problem solve.
• Minimum 6 months experience operating warehouse equipment, i.e. forklifts, riding jacks, pallet jacks

Responsibilities

• Fill orders for production.
• Quality control of received items.
• Operate forklift.
• Operate manual and electric pallet jack.
• Load and unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Complete receiving/order documentation including recording, weighing, labeling.
• Keeps receiving area clean.
