About The Position

The Warehouse & Forklift Operator assists with fulfilling wholesale orders, receiving purchase orders, maintaining an orderly and safe warehouse, accurately counting inventory, and picking raw materials to support bakery operations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The role involves working in varied temperatures, including freezer, refrigerator, and dry areas, and requires regular physical activity.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent job duties.
• Experience using warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and shrink-wrap machinery.
• Ability to read English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to follow scheduling procedures, start shifts punctually, and maintain consistent attendance.
• Ability to work in cold environments and varied temperatures, including inside and outside, freezer, refrigerator, and dry areas.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and squat, reach, bend, pull, push, or otherwise remain physically engaged during a shift.
• Ability to perform essential job functions safely while maintaining qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to work in an environment with minimal chemical hazards, vibration, dust, and vehicle noise.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks or trailers using a hi-lo, lift, or forklift.
• Locate and move warehouse stock in preparation for shipments using a hi-lo, lift, or forklift.
• Receive raw materials and store them according to the storage plan.
• Support production by delivering and removing raw materials daily.
• Perform general warehouse maintenance to support sanitation, including emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and organizing.
• Keep refrigeration and freezer areas orderly and clean.
• Assist with cleaning warehouse equipment.
• Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and maintain allergen awareness in storage practices.
• Comply with Zaro’s safety programs.
• Handle and move large equipment efficiently and safely.
• Report quality and safety outages and work to correct them where necessary to prevent injury or loss.
• Maintain inventory records and activity logs.
