Warehouse Forklift Operator
About The Position
BWT Logistics is seeking experienced and safety-conscious Warehouse Forklift Operators for its Fort Wayne, Indiana team. The position operates a sit-down forklift to safely load, unload, move, and store materials throughout the warehouse. The role requires prior forklift experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This is a full-time position with day-shift opportunities. Available shifts are 1st shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, and 2nd shift, 11:30 AM–8:00 PM. Pay is $16.00–$18.00 per hour. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid holidays, and PTO are available after 90 days. Steel-toe boots are required; BWT Logistics provides additional PPE as needed. Advancement opportunities are available within RBT/BWT Logistics.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift.
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle warehouse materials.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience using RF scanners, scan guns, or warehouse management technology.
Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift to transport, load, unload, and store materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
- Store and organize pallets in designated warehouse locations.
- Use scan guns and tablets to complete inventory transactions and warehouse documentation.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and report discrepancies.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the warehouse.
- Follow inventory control procedures and accurately update inventory records.
- Assist with order fulfillment and material movement to support operational needs.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse team members to support productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
