About The Position

Forklift Operators help support C&S Wholesale Grocers’ mission to feed local families, neighbors, and communities by replenishing product levels so merchandise is accessible in the warehouse. The role supports safe and efficient daily operations and includes transporting, stacking, rotating, staging, loading, and unloading merchandise, as well as tracking inventory and replenishing pick slots and production lines.

This is a full-time night-shift position at 61 Medeiros Way, Westfield, MA 01085. The scheduled workdays are Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. or until shift completion. Shifts are 10–12 hours. The work environment may include freezer conditions of approximately -20°F to 0°F. The position involves frequent lifting and physical activity, including standing, bending, pulling, lifting, and pivoting for up to 90% of the shift.

Requirements

• One or more years of experience operating material handling equipment.
• Strong sense of safety and ability to follow standard safety procedures.
• Ability and willingness to follow safe operating procedures for material handling equipment.
• Team-oriented outlook and a passion for helping others.
• Desire to work with a team supporting causes that positively impact communities.
• General Equivalency Diploma in General Studies or High School Diploma in General Studies.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to transport merchandise to designated warehouse locations.
• Accurately track inventory using a handheld computer and other necessary technology.
• Stack and rotate merchandise by hand or using material handling equipment.
• Replenish pick slots and production lines to support timely fulfillment of customer orders.
• Stage finished product in designated storage areas.
• Load and unload merchandise from trailers.
• Follow all warehouse safety protocols and procedures for forklift operators.
• Safely lift items of varying case weights, shapes, and heights as needed.
