About The Position

Forklift Operators support C&S Wholesale Grocers’ mission to help feed local communities by replenishing product levels and keeping merchandise accessible in the warehouse. The role involves operating a forklift and other material handling equipment, tracking inventory with a handheld computer and related technology, and helping ensure safe, efficient warehouse operations. This is a full-time night-shift position at 61 Medeiros Way, Westfield, Massachusetts. The schedule is Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. or completion of the shift, with 10–12-hour shifts. Pay is $25.00 per hour, plus $2.00 freezer pay. The work environment may be a freezer at approximately -20° to 0°.

Requirements

One or more years of experience operating material handling equipment.
Strong sense of safety and ability to follow standard safety procedures.
Team-oriented outlook and a passion for helping others.
Desire to work with a team to support causes that positively impact communities.
Ability and willingness to follow safe operating procedures for material handling equipment.
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.

Responsibilities

Operate a forklift to transport merchandise to designated warehouse locations.
Accurately track inventory using a handheld computer and other necessary technology.
Stack and rotate merchandise by hand or with material handling equipment.
Replenish pick slots and production lines to support timely fulfillment of customer orders.
Stage finished product in designated storage areas.
Load and unload merchandise from trailers.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures established for warehouse forklift operators.
Occasionally lift varying case weights, shapes, and heights safely.
