About The Position
Loads outbound trucks, unloads and puts away inbound merchandise, and performs clean-up duties. This role is responsible for operating a forklift to assist in handling materials, pulling customer orders, loading vehicles, and maintaining a clean warehouse environment. The position requires adherence to all safety rules and participation in inventory counts.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write so that written instructions and shipping papers can be easily followed and that corrections and needed information can be easily filled.
- Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
- Must be able to pass our forklift operators test after a normal training procedure.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of building materials a plus.
Responsibilities
- Unloads materials from our customers’ and suppliers’ trucks.
- Put away or stock inbound materials.
- Pulls customers’ orders from inventory on hand.
- Load company and customer vehicles with outbound materials.
- Safely operate a forklift to assist in handling of materials.
- Sweep and clean warehouse and pick up trash.
- Observe all safety rules: (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.).
- Assist in counting inventory.
- Checks in merchandise from receiving documentation.
