About The Position
This role is responsible for operating a forklift to manage inbound and outbound materials, ensuring efficient movement of freight and stock. The operator will also be involved in sorting finished goods, labeling containers, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The position requires adherence to production schedules and safety procedures.
Requirements
- No more than 4 attendance points to qualify.
- No second write up in any area.
- Standing long periods, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. individually and 80 lbs. with a team lift.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Use a forklift to load and unload inbound and outbound materials.
- Move freight, stock, to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using other equipment.
- Sort finished goods before loading and unloading.
- Attach identifying labels to containers or mark them with identifying information.
- Read work orders or follow oral instructions of work assignments.
- Assist in maintaining work area (i.e. sweeping, emptying trash, etc.).
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
- Run a safe, clean operation that promotes zero accidents.
- Meet production and delivery schedules.
- Be at work on time all scheduled days.
- Maintain product specifications during production and packing according to customer requests.
- Meet daily delivery requirements.
- Monitor and advise if there are not an adequate inventory of materials (finished parts, WIP, and raw materials).
- May participate in housekeeping.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
