About The Position

The Warehouse Forklift Driver is responsible for operating a lift truck continually throughout their shift, including proficiency in driving backwards and maintaining constant awareness of travel direction. This role involves performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, such as cleaning and recharging batteries. The driver will inspect product condition for damage or contamination, safely move and store product in designated locations, and stage product for outbound loads according to requirements. Additionally, the position includes emptying waste bins, transporting materials using a lift truck, and manually loading/unloading pallets. The role also requires operating a powered air supplied respirator for cleaning functions, maintaining departmental housekeeping, and ensuring reliable attendance. All duties must be performed in accordance with safety and security standards, and other assigned tasks as needed.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Two (2) years related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Basic computer or tablet skills; hand-held radio.
Forklift Certification preferred.
Must be able to complete Holman’s forklift certification program.
Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time.
Ability and willingness to work the voluntary/mandatory overtime required during the busy season.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner with others.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction.
Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write simple sentences.
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.

Responsibilities

Maintains reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
