About The Position

The Warehouse Forklift Driver - Nights position is responsible for operating a lift truck continually throughout the shift, performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, inspecting product for damage or contamination, and safely moving and storing product. This role involves staging product for outbound loads, managing waste disposal, and operating lifting devices to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. The driver will also manually load/unload materials and perform cleaning functions using a powered air supplied respirator. Maintaining departmental housekeeping, reliable attendance, and adherence to safety standards are crucial. The position requires the ability to work the scheduled nights and potentially overtime during peak seasons.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Two (2) years related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Basic computer or tablet skills.
Hand-held radio operation.
Ability to complete Holman’s forklift certification program.
Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time.
Ability and willingness to work voluntary/mandatory overtime required during the busy season.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction.
Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write simple sentences.
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.
Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds established guidelines.

Responsibilities

Operates a lift truck continually on shift, proficient in driving backwards and looking in the direction of travel.
Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, including battery maintenance, and reports defects to supervision.
Inspects product condition for damage or contamination.
Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Stages product for outbound loads according to requirements.
Removes and empties waste bins into proper receptacles.
Moves controls to drive lift trucks and transport materials to and from the warehouse, trailers, or operating lines.
Operates lifting devices such as forklifts, lift beams, swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport.
Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
Operates a powered air supplied respirator to perform cleaning functions.
Maintains housekeeping of department/areas.
Ensures reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
