Summary: The Weekend Night Shift Floor Manager oversees all manufacturing operations during 12hour weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent production throughout extended operating hours. This role serves as the senior onsite leader during weekends, providing decision making authority, operational continuity, and real time issue resolution while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and employee engagement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or industrial operations experience
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience
  • Proven ability to manage operations independently during extended shifts
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production systems
  • Strong leadership presence during long shifts
  • Decisive problem solving and sound judgment
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Time management and endurance in fast paced environments
  • Ability to maintain focus, accuracy, and accountability over extended hours
  • Ability to work 12hour shifts in a manufacturing environment
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and floor presence required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
  • Exposure to noise, temperature variations, and PPE requirements
  • Execute production plans, monitor output, and manage labor efficiency throughout extended operating hours
  • Identify and resolve downtime, equipment issues, staffing gaps, and material shortages in real time
  • Ensure smooth shift startups, midshift transitions, and end of shift handoffs

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience leading 12 hour or compressed workweek schedules
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing operations across entire 12hour shifts, ensuring sustained productivity and performance
  • Execute production plans, monitor output, and manage labor efficiency throughout extended operating hours
  • Identify and resolve downtime, equipment issues, staffing gaps, and material shortages in real time
  • Ensure smooth shift startups, midshift transitions, and end of shift handoffs
  • Supervise production supervisors, team leads, and hourly associates during extended shifts
  • Monitor employee fatigue and morale; rotate assignments and breaks as appropriate
  • Ensure proper staffing levels, attendance, and coverage for full 12hour operations
  • Coach employees on performance, safety, and quality expectations
  • Enforce company policies consistently during off shift operations
  • Maintain a strong safety presence throughout long shifts
  • Conduct routine safety checks and floor walks during all phases of the shift
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and PPE requirements
  • Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Monitor product quality and process adherence over extended production runs
  • Respond quickly to quality issues to minimize scrap and rework
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, and root cause analysis
  • Serve as the primary decision maker and escalation point during weekend operations
  • Provide detailed shift summaries, including production results, labor issues, safety events, and maintenance concerns
  • Ensure accurate documentation and clear communication for weekday leadership handoff
  • Coordinate with on call or weekend maintenance teams for urgent repairs
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and secured at shift end
  • Verify startup and shutdown procedures are followed during long operating cycles
