About The Position

The incumbent will be responsible for assembling the Specials Large Product line under minimum supervision. This role requires solid experience in electro-mechanical assembly, with instrumentation experience being a plus. The assembler will perform electrical and mechanical assembly work of larger sizes and higher complexity, fitting, aligning, and adjusting components and assemblies within close tolerances. They will assemble products based on job orders, work instructions, procedures, drawings, and wiring diagrams, and will be responsible for soldering and spot welding wire leads. The role also involves multi-tasking through various job orders, following and documenting test procedures, and participating in discussions with manufacturing and engineering to resolve product issues.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of electrical mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to use a large variety of small hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and soldering irons.
  • Must be able to use and understand basic electrical measuring tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance meters, decade boxes, and a variety of test fixtures.
  • Must be able to use mechanical measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Must be able to read and understand assembly documentation such as assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, job orders, work instructions, and procedures with a minimum of supervision using considerable judgment.
  • Lift, carry, push and or pull 25 – 75 lbs. frequently
  • Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently
  • Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and background screen

Nice To Haves

  • Instrumentation experience a plus.
  • Be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings.
  • Previous work in a quality-controlled setting is preferred.
  • Ability to TIG and spot weld fine parts is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory is beneficial.
  • The ability to do fine work under a microscope is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical assembly work, which is of larger sizes and higher complexity.
  • Fit, alignment, and adjust components and assemblies within close tolerances.
  • Assemble products based on information translated from job orders, work instructions, procedures, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Solder wire cables to sensor head leads.
  • Spot weld wire leads to sensor head leads.
  • Multi-task through a variety of job orders.
  • Follow verbal and written test procedures and document the testing and the functionality of completed items.
  • Participate in discussions with manufacturing - engineering and support personnel to resolve issues associated with the manufacturability, reliability, and quality of the product.
  • Other duties as assigned.
