About The Position

The Distribution Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing warehouse and order fulfillment operations across two facilities, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished goods. This position is accountable for supervising a team of forklift operators and inventory picking associates, managing outbound and inbound shipments between both sites, and maintaining high standards for inventory accuracy, safety, and operational excellence. A successful candidate will possess strong organizational capabilities, a servant leadership mindset, and a commitment to fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who excels in leading by example, developing team capabilities through structured training programs, and maintaining a high level of operational discipline.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Demonstrated ability, and desire, to lead and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.
  • Proficient in operating and training others on sit-down and stand-up forklifts; forklift trainer certification required upon hire.
  • Experience managing logistics across multiple locations, including coordinating shipments, transfers, and tracking documentation.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control procedures, including conducting physical counts, cycle counts, and variance reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in completing and approving employee timecards, monitoring attendance, and ensuring accurate labor reporting.
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and experience conducting safety audits and enforcing compliance.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate frontline staff.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexible availability, including potential evening, weekend, or holiday coverage based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of forklift operators and order picking associates, with a focus on safety, productivity, and continuous training on both sit-down and stand-up forklift equipment.
  • Assign tasks, set performance goals, and monitor employee productivity and adherence to protocols.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback and address employee concerns and disciplinary issues.
  • Coordinate and manage order shipments between multiple locations, including receiving, staging, outbound distribution, and inter-facility transfers.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staging levels at each site to ensure adequate coverage during fluctuations of business.
  • Organize and track all inbound, outbound and inter-plant shipments to ensure accurate and timely deliveries with full traceability and documentation.
  • Maintain a 99% OTIF.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and always promote a safety-first culture.
  • Lead routine and cycle inventory counts to ensure accurate inventory levels and reconciliation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Implement and uphold structured work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, reduce errors, and maintain product integrity.
  • Analyze warehouse workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Implement 5S, Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies to streamline operations.
  • Drive initiatives to minimize product damage and operational errors through training, process audits, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure that all warehouse areas, including indoor and outdoor spaces, are maintained in an organized, clean, and audit-ready condition.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and or other facilities.
  • Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delay, damage, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all shipments, including bills of lading and delivery confirmations.
  • Maintain and organize shipping and inventory documentation to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and submit reports on inventory levels, operational performance, and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and sites, including procurement, sales, and customer service.
  • Address inquiries or complaints related to order fulfillment and delivery.
