About The Position

This position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to warehouse operations and delivery services within the Roswell Independent School District's Student Nutrition program. The role involves cooperative work with colleagues, supervisors, and vendors, adherence to district policies, and maintaining appropriate behavior for assigned duties. Key responsibilities include managing inventories, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of food carts to satellite schools, receiving and storing deliveries, maintaining the orderliness of the stockroom, and assisting with general warehouse duties. The role also includes equipment maintenance, inventory checks, and assisting with site safety. During summer hours, the position may involve maintenance on carts, equipment, and trucks, including painting and stock transfers. A valid New Mexico Driver's license is required, and any changes to its status must be reported immediately. The job requires basic mathematical skills, personal task management, punctuality, flexibility, organizational skills, decision-making abilities, and the capacity to work independently. The employee must wear approved uniforms and comply with health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current Driver’s license and Car Insurance (if traveling from site to site).
  • Basic mathematical, reading and writing skills.
  • Food Service Safety and Health Requirements.
  • Must show proof of and be able to maintain a Valid New Mexico Driver’s license.
  • Must report to Warehouse Manager and Director of Student Nutrition immediately of any changes in driver’s license status.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical functions.
  • Personal and professional task management through the use of technology.
  • Report to work on time and able to work 8 hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive matters.
  • Be flexible and able to prioritize tasks and maintain accurate and detailed reports.
  • Possess organizational skills.
  • Be able to make sound decisions.
  • Work independently with very little supervision.
  • Wear approved RISD Cafeteria uniform and comply with local, state and federal health and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions (blood borne pathogens, body fluids, etc.)
  • Must know how to properly operate, or be willing to learn to operate, all warehouse equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, administrators, parents, and vendors.

  • Receives deliveries and puts product away, as instructed.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly stock room.
  • Pulls merchandise from shelves, freezers and walk-ins as needed.
  • Maintains equipment in safe, operable condition as needed.
  • Notifies Warehouse Manager of needed repairs or equipment replacement in a timely manner.
  • Keeps work area in clean, orderly condition.
  • Takes monthly inventory.
  • Assists with delivery and unloading of all goods.
  • Assists with sweep/shovel/remove snow ensuring the cafeteria entrances safe.
  • During non-school summer hours will do all maintenance on carts, equipment, trucks as needed and scheduled to include painting as needed, transfer of stock as needed, checking freezers and refrigerators for failure, and all other jobs related tasks as required or assigned.
