About The Position

The Warehouse & Delivery Driver position is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of equipment and materials supporting POM’s installation and service operations. The position coordinates with the Warehouse, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Service Teams, and Field Technicians to ensure materials are delivered to and retrieved from job sites as required. This role also supports warehouse operations when not performing scheduled deliveries or pickups.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload equipment and materials as required.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple departments.
  • Comfortable using GPS/navigation applications, mobile devices, email, and basic business applications.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Reliable, responsible, safety-conscious, and committed to meeting operational deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior delivery, warehouse, logistics, or material-handling experience preferred.
  • Experience in construction, electrical, electronic security, low voltage, or audio/video industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with driving throughout New York City and the greater New York Metropolitan area.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deliveries and changing project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver equipment, materials, tools, and supplies to installation and service job sites throughout New York City and the greater New York Metropolitan area.
  • Ensure deliveries and pickups are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Verify materials and equipment prior to leaving the warehouse.
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials.
  • Retrieve unused or excess materials from job sites and return them to the warehouse.
  • Pick up materials and equipment from vendors as required.
  • Transport equipment requiring repair, replacement, return, or vendor credit.
  • Coordinate equipment transfers between the warehouse, technicians, vendors, and project locations.
  • Communicate delivery delays, job site access issues, missing materials, or other concerns promptly.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Service Teams regarding scheduled deliveries and pickups.
  • Respond to changing project priorities and urgent material needs.
  • Confirm materials are delivered to the appropriate job site and designated team member or location.
  • Maintain professional communication and conduct when interacting with customers, vendors, building personnel, and field teams.
  • Assist with receiving, loading, unloading, and organizing incoming materials and equipment.
  • Assist with staging materials for upcoming installation and service work.
  • Assist with processing and organizing materials returned from job sites.
  • Maintain clean and organized loading, delivery, and vehicle areas.
  • Provide general warehouse support when not performing deliveries or pickups.
  • Maintain the company vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe operating condition.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow all traffic laws, parking regulations, company vehicle policies, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain delivery, mileage, and other vehicle records as required.
  • Promptly report accidents, vehicle damage, tickets, or other incidents.
