About The Position

Farwest Steel Corporation is seeking a full-time Warehouse Crane Operator for their swing shift. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and timely flow of work through the shop by operating the crane to support metal processing equipment, and to move, unload, load, and store materials. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Warehouseman/Crane operator training or prior experience of at least 12 months.
• Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
• Reliable, be ready to work on time daily.
• Ability to work in a team environment with others in our company and treat our employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tact.
• Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions and record work activities performed.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Both Overhead cranes & Bushman attachments, Company computer applications & e-mail, forklift, railcar mover.
• Perform routine office support, understand written and oral instruction, make mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to assure safe effective and efficient work tasks.
• Operate overhead crane to load or unload railcars, trailers, customer’s vehicles, etc.
• Keep machine operators supplied with proper steel & pull/stage for next shift.
• Perform weekly and monthly assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Perform clean up duties daily to maintain safe work area.
• Occasionally be requested to work other positions as backup for vacation/sick coverage.
• Operate forklift or railcar mover occasionally.
• Compliance with general company attendance standards is acceptable.
• Will be working in warehouse setting with some daily exposure to weather conditions (cold, wet, hot).
• Continuous mental and/or visual attention to work tasks is required to monitor the production process, attend to safety conditions, operate required vehicles, etc.
