Compensation: $22.00 an hour - paid weekly Shift Available: Days 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday Position Description: Knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, transportation operations, order management, performance metrics, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the accurate, efficient reporting of data to internal and external customers. Enters picked orders in the ERP system and creates the bill-of-lading (BOL) along with shipping labels for all outbound shipments, including customer pickups. Compiles daily shipping activities to create outbound shipment reports. Confers with management, supervisors, and hourly staff to ensure an efficient flow of work through the distribution system, including scheduling carrier and customer pickups, allocating orders in the ERP system, planning product moves between the various warehouses, and checking orders for pick accuracy. Receives, inspects, and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing list with purchase order to verify accuracy. Responsible for analyzing the flow of open orders and determining the best method of transportation, based on the customer’s requirements, quality of service, and the best cost. Prepare and monitor the processing of inbound/outbound orders by creating shipment ID’s and tender shipments through the required system(s). Knowledge in various transportation modes and methods, including but not limited to consolidation, pool, intermodal, parcel, less than truckload (LTL), truckload (TL), international shipments & documentation. Manage inbound and shipping documentation daily, including but not limited to: maintaining the order scheduling process, printing of initial orders, updating the shipping log tracking information, and reprinting of revised orders. Lead and support carriers in the coordination of delivery appointments. Change the lead-time for accuracy. Provide necessary communication to internal departments as needed. Effectively plan and schedule shipments with Carriers by using the Dock Schedule. Review and discuss the availability with the Warehouse Supervisor and Lead daily. Develop, implement, and maintain a process for anticipated problems while executing a deviation process. Prepare and provide mapped transit lead times to various departments to ensure on-time delivery of orders. Prepare Pickup Allowances for Customers, as needed. Assist in Cycle Counts, Physical Inventory, Mock Recalls, and AIB Audits, as needed. Assist in IFS transactions and reporting, such as reserves, transfers, open order reporting, and goods receipt.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, transportation operations, order management, performance metrics, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the accurate, efficient reporting of data to internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge in various transportation modes and methods, including but not limited to consolidation, pool, intermodal, parcel, less than truckload (LTL), truckload (TL), international shipments & documentation.
  • Ability to pass certification and safely operate all necessary mobile equipment, including forklift, clamp truck, and shuttle truck
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision to complete job tasks.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of Logistics experience, warehouse operations, and forklift driving
  • Proficient computer skills: MS Office, Word, and Excel are required.
  • Work safely and ensure others are working safely; identify and report any work hazards, must eliminate hazards within ability; and be aware of and follow all safety policies, including use of personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, housekeeping, etc.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with periods of walking, sitting, and/or lifting, a maximum of 50 pounds, infrequently, as needed.

Responsibilities
