About The Position

Ryder is hiring a full-time Warehouse Clerk in Port Deposit, Maryland. The role supports warehouse fulfillment and distribution operations involving retail items. Warehouse Associates work in clean, organized facilities focused on providing a safe supply chain environment. The position includes checking in and out truck drivers, coordinating inbound and outbound loads, assigning dock doors, verifying shipping and receiving documentation, scheduling appointments, updating reports, and assisting customers. Depending on the location, the employee may be required to operate equipment and obtain equipment certification.

The schedule is Sunday through Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., plus every other Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Pay is $22.50 per hour, with overtime pay of $32.25 per hour and an additional $1.00 per hour. Pay is weekly. Ryder offers paid training and support, benefits beginning after 30 days, and PTO accrual beginning in the first month.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in SAP and a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Flexibility and self-motivation to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across organizational levels, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.
• Ability to multitask and stay highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail orientation and excellent follow-up practices.
• Intermediate-level PC skills in Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate-level SAP and Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge.
• Depending on location, ability to operate equipment and obtain equipment certification may be required.
• Some positions may require additional screening, which can include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Check truck drivers in and out.
• Assign dock doors for inbound and outbound activity according to warehouse direction and vendor assignment.
• Verify the accuracy of shipping and receiving documentation and partner with the inventory department to resolve issues.
• Assist with appointment scheduling as needed.
• Update required reports in a timely manner.
• Communicate with customers and assist with customer needs.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound loads.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
