About The Position
The Warehouse Attendant follows procedures and standard operating procedures for the warehouse and production areas, including moving products from the production floor into the warehouse and loading them onto customer trucks. The role supports safe, efficient warehouse operations through inventory, freight scheduling, documentation, material handling, housekeeping, and teamwork. It also requires adherence to environmental, safety, and food safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- General background in warehouse operations.
- Forklift certification or willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail.
- Understanding of basic safety procedures.
- Team player.
Responsibilities
- Follow warehouse and production procedures for moving products from the production floor to the warehouse and into customer trucks.
- Recognize hazardous materials in the work area and handle them properly, using training, MSDS reviews, safety meetings, and toolbox meetings.
- Understand and follow emergency procedures.
- Report spills and other environmental incidents according to EHS protocol; work to prevent incidents and participate in investigations when asked.
- Enter data and provide paperwork needed to maintain an efficient warehousing system.
- Minimize waste and prevent pollution.
- Perform inventories of raw materials and production products.
- Follow procedures for unloading railcars and loading and unloading trailers.
- Perform Warehouse Attendant duties as needed or assigned.
- Stretch-wrap and stack warehouse products correctly and without damage.
- Perform duties efficiently while avoiding damage to company equipment and furnishings.
- Schedule inbound and outbound freight when the supervisor is absent.
- Maintain housekeeping and keep the work area clean.
- Perform assignments according to standards and remain in the assigned work area.
- Follow work instructions and provide and receive constructive feedback.
- Use spare time and cleanup time constructively to maintain the warehouse and equipment.
- Promote teamwork with other employees and departments.
- Follow food safety guidelines on the manufacturing floor and report deviations to the responsible personnel.
- Ensure that applicable supply-chain partners are made aware of their food safety obligations.
