WAREHOUSE ATTENDANT - 3rd Shift - $16.40 up to $18.02
About The Position
Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of experience. As a leading global manufacturer of woven textiles, we design and produce fabrics for residential and contract markets, serving furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and major retailers. This position is for the 3rd shift, which includes a $1.00 shift premium. Additionally, a $50 attendance bonus is offered bi-weekly for perfect attendance (excluding shutdown periods), which equates to an extra $0.62 per hour. The role involves staging materials for both manufacturing and shipping, pulling yarn, and managing incoming yarn inventory. Safety is paramount, requiring hearing protection in high-noise areas and safety belts/harnesses when operating PIT equipment.
Requirements
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Hearing protection is required in high noise areas.
- Safety belt/harness required when using P.I.T. equipment.
Responsibilities
- Stage materials from manufacturing operations to warehouse.
- Stage materials from warehouse to be shipped.
- Pull yarn as needed from the main plant list.
- Place incoming yarn into the appropriate location.
- Scan and adjust box or bin rows, and combine yarns to create bins.
- Open share file, pull yarn required for main, and locate in bins.
- Load yarn onto the truck.
- Place yarn from vendors or other plants into the proper location.
- Make any transaction needed to ensure inventory is correct.
- Pull yarn for outside processed yarns.
- Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.
- Maintain personal work habits that meet the demands of the job.
- Work scheduled overtime.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Report all job-related injuries to the supervisor immediately.
- Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Actively participate in safety programs, which identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by the company.
- Follow the 5 S Standards.
